Candidates to speak at forum Oct. 27

Before Clark Countians hit the polls in November, they will have the chance to hear from and ask questions of candidates at a forum later this month.
The forum for the 2016 general election will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at the Extension Office, 1400 Fortune Drive.
During the forum candidates for local, state and federal offices will answers questions from the audience. Cora Heffner, executive director of Clark County Community Education and event organizer, said all but one invited candidate have accepted the invitation to participate. Candidates must RSVP by Oct. 13.
The following candidates have already confirmed their participation in the forum:
— Kentucky Supreme Court Justice, 5th District: Glenn Acree and Larry VanMeter
— U.S. Representative: Republican Andy Barr, the incumbent, and Democrat Nancy Jo Kemper
— Clark County Board of Education, 2nd District: Todd Wilson and Scott Hisle
— Circuit Judge Family Court, 25th District, 4th Division: Joan Deaton Grefer and Kimberly Blair Walson
— Winchester Board of Commissioners: Rick Beach, Kenny Book, Shannon Cox, Ramsey Flynn, Ralph Harrison and Kitty Strode
— State Representative, 73rd District: Republican Donna Mayfield, the incumbent, and John Hendricks.
After introductions, two minutes will be allotted for each candidate to a give an opening statement. Each candidate will have one minute to answer each question from the audience.
The forum can be heard live on WKYN radio 107.7 FM and will be streamed live at clarkcountyforum.com. It will be shown on local cable channel 5 or Time Warner Cable channel 306 beginning Oct. 29 through election day, Nov. 8.
Graham Johns will moderate the forums. Community volunteers will serve as timekeepers, runners, greeters and assist with audience questions.
