How much longer is the 10th region going to let Mason have their home court advantage in the regional. This has been going on for over 30 years now, and it's proven to be a windfall for Mason county. You can't just keep letting a good team have home court advantage year after year in order to get to the state tourney 7 out of 10 years.

lets see phoneman last year it was northern ky. the year before it was Montgomery Co. and the outcome was the same. The game I watched last night was one of the better high school games I have seen in a long time regardless of the outcome. Hats off to both teams. Don't take anything away from the kids on either team by crying about where the game is played.

Eddy, sorry but I disagree. The 10th Region Boy's tourney has been played at Mason County 37 out of the last 40 years. I place some of the blame on the Clark County Schools administration. Fair is fair. No one deserves this kind of advantage. It is so unfortunate that we haven't pursued to be the host for the tourney. Some years we couldn't get enough votes, of course there hasn't been that many votes. Montgomery builds a gym, which still isn't as large as GRC'S, and somehow they get to host. Alot of it is just plain jealously because we are the largest school in the 10th region. We also have done a pitiful job of updating our facility to even have a chance to host. When the bleachers on the visitor's side started breaking down, we just tore them out and made a batting cage and storage, instead of fixing them. This has been the attitude around here for the last 40 plus years.. Fact is the tools are not in place for ANYONE to be successful, long term as the Coach at Clark County..

I am a 10th Region basketball fan who happens to be born and raised in Mason County. Of course I enjoy when our team wins, but I enjoy a good game no matter who is playing or where it is played. GRC was without a doubt the better team this year but that is why they go ahead and play the games anyway. It is not any of these kids fault that the game is played where it is. All of the blame goes to our money hungry school systems that care nothing more than how much we can make on these games. I for one don't care how big your gym is I think that it should be played somewhere different every year with every team required to take they're turn hosting. This includes the likes of St.Patrick, Deming,Paris,Nicholas, etc. The kids that are playing would probably have more fun in a smaller venue. I think sometimes we forget that this is what high school sports are for, the kids. I am a supporter of the 10th Region when it comes to State Tournament, you can come visit the 4th floor of the Radisson all next week and see. We have the whole floor plus and all the teams jerseys hanging in our hospitality room. Three years ago when GRC was there, that was the jersey in the front. Like I said, let all the schools host it once every 16 years and then the kids wont have to listen to all of this and they can enjoy the moment because before you know it ,it's over and it's time for them to join the real world.

Anyone have any idea why the power was out the other morning? I called to report it and the message said over 10,000 homes were out...seems we should see SOMETHING about it!

eddy, good comment. I agree that the tourney needs to be spread out to all the schools, big or small. 37 out of 40 years in one place is enough.

The new GRCHS will have a better chance at hosting
the 10th region basketball championship games.
The court is going to be somewhat bigger and more
up to date lockers, concessions and seating.
Maybe then Clark County will finally have a chance of
some homecourt advantage for once.

Is this correct? It was my understanding that there would be no new gym and the cards games would continue being held at GRC, if this is correct I sure hope they build it big enough to support the region. I'm sick of the fieldhouse, I would rather go back to NKU.

That is correct, in phase 1 there will be a gym for PE and have setting for 400-500. In phase 2 they would build a performance gym for games.
