Explicit images of girl lead to teen’s arrest

July 29, 2010

For the second time in a week, Winchester Police arrested a teen for having sexually explicit images of a minor.

Detectives charged 19-year-old Brian Wagner Jr., of 215 Winn Ave. Apt. A, on Wednesday afternoon following an interview at the police department.

According to court documents, detectives discovered the images while investigating the death of a 16-year-old girl. The girl’s mother gave detectives permission to search their residence.

The images, which included Wagner, were found on a digital camera, police said.

In his interview, Wagner reportedly confessed to taking the pictures on the camera, according to the citation. Wagner was arrested for possession of material portraying a minor in a sexual performance and was lodged in the Clark County Detention Center.

Last week, police arrested 18-year-old Nathan Hall for a similar offense, after finding sexually explicit images and video on his cell phone of a minor. Hall waived that case to the grand jury Wednesday afternoon.

Winchester Police Detective Dennis Briscoe said the arrests were coincidental.

Clark County Coroner Robert Gayheart said an autopsy is pending to determine the girl’s cause of death. There are no suspicions of foul play, he said.
