Teen waives explicit images case to grand jury

July 29, 2010

An 18-year-old charged with having sexually explicit images and video of a minor on his cell phone waived his case directly to the grand jury Wednesday afternoon.

Nathan Hall, of 70 Melbourne St., is also facing two counts of harassing communications with the same complaining witness. According to a warrant filed by the child’s mother, she and Hall had dated off and on for about three months.

When they broke up, she said Hall threatened to kill himself and repeatedly tried to call the girl. On July 9 and 14, she said her daughter received 25 and 33 phone calls, respectively, from Hall.

Hall is scheduled to be tried on the harassing communications charges in district court on Aug. 9.

Hall was arrested July 20 after talking with Winchester Police Detective Harold Jones. According to court documents, Hall said he received permission from the minor to record “intimate events” on his cell phone.

Hall gave his phone to officers, who found still images and video of the minor involved in sexual performances.

Hall could face one to five years in prison, if convicted of possession of material portraying a sexual performance by a minor.

He is being held on a $10,000 cash bond in the Clark County Detention Center.
