Obituaries for July 28

ELLA SHACKELFORD PIERSAWL

Ella Shackelford Piersawl, 66, wife of Carl D. Piersawl, died Sunday July 25, 2010, at her residence.

She was a 30-year employee of the Lexington Bluegrass Army Depot.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Winchester by the Rev. Marvin O. King.

Burial will follow in the Winchester Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, is in charge of the arrangements.

MARJORIE WEBER REES MACQUOWN

Marjorie Weber Rees MacQuown, 91, of Winchester, widow of William Clarke Rees and William C. MacQuown, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2010, at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Peter and Marjorie Weber.

Mrs. MacQuown graduated from Northwestern University of Illinois. She was an owner of Rees Printing Company, a founding member of the Winchester Art Guild, and a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie (Rick) Beach of Winchester; three sons, Mitchell (Susan) Rees of New Jersey, Robert (Diane) Rees of Ohio, and Thomas “Timus” (Donna) Rees of Winchester; seven grandchildren, Clarke Brown and Katie Pollard, both of Georgia, David Rees and Becky Rees, both of Florida, Nicholas Rees, Lauren Rees, and William Rees, all of Ohio; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor Brown, Jacob Brown, Zachary Brown, Andrew Pollard, William Pollard, Matthew Pollard, and Benjamin Pollard, all of Georgia; a sister, June Weber, of Kentucky; a brother, Peter Weber, of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Friday, July 30, at Scobee Funeral Home by the Rev. William Arnold and the Rev. Steve Humble. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mrs. MacQuown’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, July 29, at Scobee Funeral Home.
