ERNEST W. YATES
Ernest W. Yates, 56, died Thursday, July 22 at Fountain Circle Health and Rehabilitation in Winchester.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 29 at Broadway Baptist Church. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Church.
Keith P. Clark and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
LOIS DAMPIER JOHNSON
Lois Dampier Johnson, 78, of Winchester, widow of Robert Johnson, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at the St. Joseph East Hospital.
She was born in Bourbon County on Nov. 16, 1931, to the late Lacy and Bessie Purcell Dampier. Mrs. Johnson was a retired South Central Bell telephone operator and a member of the First Church of God on Colby Road.
Survivors include two brothers, Walter Dampier of Carlisle and Bill Dampier of Lexington, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Dampier and a sister, Elsie Anderson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 28, at Scobee Funeral Home by Pastor Gary Brown. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Greg Hodge, Nicholas Hodge, Billy Purcell, Bradley Purcell, Wesley Purcell, Jim Dampier, Kenneth Dampier and Roger Dampier. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Phillips, Jerry King, Doris and William Kennedy, Everett Johnson and Bill Johnson.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at July 27 at Scobee Funeral Home.

MARGARET HARDY BABER
Margaret Hardy Baber, 90, widow of Harvey W. Baber, passed away at 1:39 a.m. today at Clark Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete at Scobee Funeral Home.
ORVIE SHARP
Orvie Sharp, 81, of Winchester, husband of 53 years to Ann Williams Sharp, passed away Friday at his home.
He was born December 29, 1928, in Henry County, to the late Earl Sharp and Fannie Louden Blackley.
He was a United States Army veteran during the Korean War. He served in the U.S. Army with the 5th Ranger Company during his four campaigns of duty in the Korean War.
He made two combat parachute jumps and was awarded the Silver Star, two Purple Hearts, the Combat Infantry Badge and the Army Occupation Badge during his military service.
He was also retired from Bell South.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children and their spouses; Larry B. Sharp, Donna Sharp (Jeff) Chapman, Wayne W. (Lisa) Sharp, and James R. (Pam) Sharp; seven grandchildren, James Chapman, Taylor Chapman, Steven Chapman, Cassidy Ann Sharp, Zachary J. Sharp, Madison Sharp, Sara Wynne Sharp, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Deannie and Kenneth.
Visitation was Sunday from 1 p.m. to -3 p.m. at Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St., Winchester.
Graveside services were Sunday in the Hebron Cemetery in Bullitt County, Kentucky.
