JOHN CAMERON HENDRICKS
John Cameron Hendricks, 60, of Winchester, husband of Mary Beth Flynn Hendricks, passed away Friday, March 12, 2010, at Central Baptist Hospital.
A native of Robertson County, he was born March 31, 1949, to the late Charles Ray and Malissa Wells Hendricks.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Charles Wiley Hendricks and John Maurice Hendricks; brother Donnie Hendricks of Robertson County; nieces and nephews, Angie Schlack, Joe, Billy, and Davey Hendricks of Robertson County, John Franklin and Ramsey Flynn, both of Winchester.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles William Hendricks.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In 1999 he retired as general manager of pretrial services and court security for the Kentucky Administrative Office of the Courts. He served as a regional director and four years as president of the National Association of the Pretrial Services,.
John was the first vice-president of both Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation and Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance Company, and he served as chairman of the Beef Cattle Advisory Committee, Roadside Markets Advisory Committee and the State Communication Advisory Committee. He was chairman of the Kentucky Farm Bureau Health Care Task Force and the Resolutions Committee. John was also an active member of the Clark County Farm Bureau, where he served in a variety of leadership positions, including president and District Nine chairman. He was also a member of the American Farm Bureau Federation Federal Deficit Task Force. He was a member of the Clark County Cattleman’s Association, chairman of the Kentucky Tobacco Research Board, and former treasurer of the Clark County Soil Conservation Board. He and his family owned and operated Beech Springs Farm Market.
Funeral services will be Tuesday March 16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church by Father Norman Fisher and Father Jacob Kurian at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be Monday from 5-8 p.m. at Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick Mink, Shane Wiseman, Thadd Taylor, Nick Carter, Gene Allen, Starkey Ray, Bob Flynn, and Lynn Parsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the officers and directors of Clark County and Kentucky Farm Bureau.
Memorial contributions may be made to S.T.R.I.D.E., 150 Maryland Ave., Winchester, KY.
