Community Action Plan day set for March 25

March 10, 2010

Local officials have set a new date for the second session of the 2010 Community Action Plan forum.

The meeting was originally planned for Feb. 15, but was canceled due to inclement weather.

Officials announced this week that the meeting has been rescheduled for 6-8 p.m. March 25 at George Rogers Clark High School.

The forum was started in 2007. Each year, officials and residents gather to establish a set of short- and long-range goals to guide public policy.

During the first 2010 meeting on Feb. 13, volunteers discussed health, transportation, community recreation, economic development, planning and zoning and education.

In the second session, groups are scheduled to discuss drugs, government organization, downtown development; water, sewer and solid waste; youth and law enforcement.

The public is encouraged to participate.
