Louisville (AP) — A University of Kentucky economist, Dr. Aubrey Brown, says a healthy situation in burley tobacco production and livestock production helped raise net farm income in Kentucky last year. The gain was only two per cent over 1958, but only six other states showed any increase.
Lexington (AP) — The interests of Lexington and Eastern Kentucky are woven together, Gov. Bert Combs told the Kentucky Mountain Club today. Combs said the $75 million highway scheduled for construction this summer between nearby Winchester and Eastern Kentucky points will connect the two areas. Travel into and out of Eastern Kentucky is expected to increase 200 percent the year the highway is open, Combs said.
Dr. and Mrs. John A. Snowden have sold their winter home in Lakeland, Fla., and have returned to their residence here after a two months stay in Florida.
