Crime of the Week

Police in Lexington are looking for information about a number of similar thefts from area businesses.

Between Oct. 21 and Nov. 23, the same suspect walked into the employee areas of businesses and took credit cards from employees’ purses. The cards are then used in nearby businesses to make fraudulent purchases.

Detectives obtained surveillance video footage of the cards being used, but have not identified the suspect, who is described as a heavy-set white male approximately 50 years old. An image of the suspect is available at www.bluegrasscrimestoppers.com/crimeoftheweek.

A $1,000 cash reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.

Wanted Person of the Week

Authorities in Fayette County are searching for 27-year-old Justin R. Morris, who is wanted for probation violation, first-degree forgery, fraudulent use of a credit card and failure to appear (two counts). He is a white male, 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call local law enforcement or Crime Stoppers at 253-2020 or 877-970-2020, rather than try to apprehend him personally.
