Community calendar for March 3

TODAY

— Tiny Tots, 10 a.m., Clark County Public Library, 370 S. Burns Ave., ages 6 months-2 years.

— Story Time, 11 a.m., Clark County Public Library, 370 S. Burns Ave., ages 3-7 years.

— Staff Swap and Read Day, Strode Station Elementary, teachers will swap classrooms and read a story to the students.

— Winchester High School reunion planning committee meeting, 1 p.m., College Park Gym meeting room. All interested parties/class representatives are urged to attend. Call Lana Hopkins at 744-3014 for more information.

— First Settlers Homemakers Club meeting, Golden Corral, 10:30 a.m.

— The Central Elementary School based Decision making council will hold it’s regular meeting today at 4 p.m. at the school.

THURSDAY, MARCH 4

— Teen Gaming, Clark County Public Library, 370 S. Burns Ave., 6-7:30 p.m., ages 12-18, snacks provided. Permission slips are available at www.clarkpublib.org.

— Drop Everything and Read and Sock it to Reading, Strode Station Elementary, at 8 a.m. all students in the school will drop what they’re doing and read. Students are also invited to wear crazy or mismatched socks to school.

— Strode Station Elementary parent night, 5:30-7 p.m. Parents can visit with their child’s teacher and the Book Fair will be taking place in the library. PTO officers and parent representatives for the School-based Decision-making Council will be elected.

— Friends of the Clark County Public Library meeting, 7-8 p.m., new members welcome. Refreshments will be served. Call John Maruskin at 744-5661 for more information.

— Beginning knitting class, Clark County Public Library, 370 S. Burns Ave., library board room, every Thursday night in March, 6:30 p.m. Contact Clark County Community Education at 745-3946 to sign-up.

FRIDAY, MARCH 5

— Public trap shoot, 7 p.m., Montgomery County Fish and Game Club, 6701 Old Nest Egg Road. For more information, visit www.mcfginc.com. Shoots are every Friday.

SATURDAY, MARCH 6

— Dr. Seuss birthday party, 11 a.m., Clark County Public Library, all youth ages.

MONDAY, MARCH 8

— Teen Advisory Board meeting, Clark County Public Library, 370 S. Burns Ave. Be a part of the decision-making process at the library. Snacks provided. Ages 12-18.

— AARP free tax preparation and counseling, Central Baptist Church Annex, 101 W. Lexington Ave., 10 a.m.-3 p.m. every Monday and Tuesday through April 13.
