ROBERT PAUL SPEARS

Robert Paul Spears, 61, of Mount Sterling, passed away at 3:17 p.m. on Feb. 16, 2010 at Mary Chiles Hospital in Mount Sterling. He was employed for 42 years at Leggett and Platt in Georgetown.

He is survived by two daughters, Virgie (Danny) Mink of Mount Vernon and Mary Spears (Donnie Smith) of Clay City; a granddaughter, Louise (Charles) Cole of Clay City; seven grandchildren; sixteen stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, William (Lou) Spears of Irvine and Johnny (Nancy) Spears of Beattyville; and a significant other, Brenda Tackett of Mount Sterling; and stepchildren, Daryl (Crystal) Tackett, Joey (Stacie) Hatton, Dale (Terah) Hatton and Angel Hatton, all of Winchester.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alice Spears, and father, William "Bill" Spears; two infant sisters; and a special friend, Helen Abney.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 19 at Scobee Funeral Home by the Rev. Chad Keathley.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

SHAWNA LYNN TAYLOR

Shawna Lynn Taylor, 17, of Winchester passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010.

She was born in Fayette County on May 31, 1992 to Shawn Anthony and Stephanie Crowe Taylor.

She was a senior at George Rogers Clark High School and attended the Church of God Cathedral.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Steven Wayne Taylor; maternal grandparents, Ronnie and Bobbie Crowe; paternal grandparents, Johnny and Mary Taylor and Alice Taylor; four aunts, Shannon Crowe, Tammy Kraczek, Heather Gregory and Crystal Gregory; four uncles, Gordon Crowe, Darrell Taylor, Johnny Taylor and Major Lee Taylor; seven cousins, Braylon Crowe, Anthony Taylor, Darion Taylor, Andrew Kraczek, Tucker Taylor, Kayla Turner, Eli Gregory, Brayden Young and Bryson Young.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 20 at the Church of God Cathedral, 3313 Lexington Road, Winchester, by Pastor David Douglas and Brother Linville Spangler.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.

Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery under the direction of Scobee Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Steven Wayne Taylor, Johnny Darrel Taylor, Major Lee Taylor, Johnny Michael Gregory, Gordon Allen Crowe and Jared Ison.

Memorial contributions are suggested to 725 Williamsburg Drive, Winchester, KY 40391 toward the purchase of a cemetery monument.

JAMES BROCKMAN RITCHIE

James Brockman Ritchie, 82, of Winchester, widower of Barbara Eades Ritchie, passed away on Tuesday at the Northpoint Healthcare facility in Lexington.

He worked as a carpenter and construction foreman. He was an Army veteran and was a member of the Boones Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Wesley (Donna) Ritchie of Lexington and Larry (Cyndi) Ritchie of Clark County; a grandson, Joshua Ritchie of Clark County; six stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 20 at Scobee Funeral Home by the Rev. Butch Payne.

Burial will be in the Athens Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
